séquence: RÊVE DE BALLON (1997)

C’est un ballon d’enfant qui flottait le long de l’Ill et mon urgence à repêcher ce miracle de sérigraphie sur une sphère qui est à l’origine de ce petit cinéma. Une séquence à la Méliès où un ballon d’enfant en  » tête de tigre  » se prend pour une lune avant de rejoindre sa dure réalité pesante.
On dit que Newton à découvert les lois du mouvement de la lune et des planètes en rêvassant sous un pommier dont un fruit tomba au sol. Pouvait-il imaginer qu’il existerait un jour des engins capables de faire le chemin inverse, de dépasser largement les branches des pommiers et de tourner autour de la lune en nous y emportant ?

A child’s baloon floating along the river Ill, and an urge to capture this miraculous series of images on a sphere was at the origin of this little cinema show. A sequence in Méliès’ style where a child’s ball with the face of a tiger behaves like a moon before coming back down to hard, heavy reality.
They say Newton discovered laws governing the movement of the planets when an apple dropped to the ground as he was dozing under a tree. Could he have imagined then that one day there would be rockets capable of doing the opposite, of going far beyond the branches of the apple trees and spinning round the moon? or even of taking us there!?
