Série :les Mouchoirs de Rorschach (2015).

C’est en feuilletant un livre consacré à Alphonse Bertillon, inventeur vers 1870 de la photographie anthropométrique judiciaire, que j’ai été fasciné par certaines images  témoignant d’ objets anodins tachés de sang. Comme si le simple fait de côtoyer une tragédie les propulsait alors dans un univers fétichiste, pour les transformer en troublantes reliques.
Ne me restait plus qu’à jouer le reporter photographe d’un simulacre de drame sanglant en maculant de vieux mouchoirs de taches ambigües mais expressives comme les fameuses taches de Rorschach.
Toujours mon obsession à fuir le corps pour n’en retenir que son ombre…

It was while flipping through a book devoted to Alphonse Bertillon, who around 1870 invented legal anthropometric photography, that I was struck by the strange beauty of pictures showing insignificant objects present on the scene of a crime. As if the simple fact of  frequenting a tragedy propelled them into a fetichist universe and transformed them into troubling relics.
All I had to do was to play the role of the photographic reporter of a pretense bloody drama by soiling old handkerchiefs with ambiguous but expressive  stains like the famous Rohrschach inkblots. My ongoing obsession, to flee the body and only retain its shadow …
